DE KAT STEAM PUNK EDITION

Each year The Aleit Group releases their much-anticipated Limited Edition Online Magazine. This year the theme was STEAM PUNK which can be described as ‘Victorian beauty meets mechanical engineering.’

Shot in our Church Studio this shoot was the brainchild of Johnny Hamman, Creative Director at The Aleit Group, whose interpretation of the Steam Punk theme was as follows, “imagine Marie Antoinette and Leonardo da Vinci have been dating for a few months. They then decide to host a lavish dinner/ dance party in an old steel factory. The result would be amazing!” With that you can just imagine how crazy the set was. Here are a few teaser photographs courtesy of Joe Dreyer.

CHOIRS CLASH IN THE CHURCH

M-Net’s proudly local channel Mzansi Magic’s brand new music reality show called Clash of the Choirs South Africa, is presented by the popular radio DJ, Social Media Queen B, Bonang Matheba. The series will bring ordinary people with a common passion for singing together. Seven musical celebrities travelled to a designated province to audition up-and-coming amateur choirs. For the Western Cape our Church Studio was the perfect location for the auditions with its naturally great acoustics and if the sounds we heard are anything to go by then this is a show not to be missed.

Here is a video of some of the hopefuls that came to audition at our studios in Roodebloem Road.

Legendary songstress Winnie Khumalo was in charge of selecting the 20-piece choir for the Western Cape auditions held at our studios on the 21 & 22 December 2012. At the end of the auditions, choirmaster Winnie Khumalo had this to say: “The Cape has talent, believe you me.”

For some behind the scenes photos of the auditions, with all the nervous smiles in our beautiful Church Studio
