Recently we hosted the making of the new Sanlam “Conversations with Yourself” Campaign with Giant Films and the King James Group. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, here are some great images below.

The campaign is comprised of 7 short videos where the hero sits down in a circle and has a casual conversation about life with his 10, 20, 30, 50, 65 and 85 year old self. The hero is represented by only two actors; a ten year old boy and a 24 year old. The creation of the different stages of life involved loads of prosthetics and makeup.

The characters were separately filmed, and later dropped into the footage of the set, which was built in our Church studio, while the photographs for the stills campaign were taken in our Hall studio. Getting all characters to interact with each other in the final commercial and consistently lighting each separate scenario, so that it would come together as one, were challenges that the team handled amazingly.
