Last week we welcomed Profoto’s “Light Shaper” Andrea Belluso who gave us a three-hour training session on the Profoto range of lighting products.
Andrea Belluso is an established fashion and beauty photographer who in his 30 years in the business has photographed famous models such as Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington. Andrea’s pictures have also been published in magazines such as Italian Vogue and Elle.
The course was both practical and theoretical. Andrea first gave us a deeper understanding of light and how photographers use light shaping tools on set. He then went through the different light shaping tools offered by Profoto and their individual characteristics, the flash heads and generators. This included live demonstrations in our Drive-In Studio so we could see exactly how he uses the products and we could ask questions at the same time.
Although we all use light shaping tools daily on shoots it is easy to get stuck with one tool that you know is safe. By demonstrating the various tools on offer Andrea encouraged us to experiment with light and try out different light shaping tools.
