For this ELLE photo shoot, senior fashion editor Tarryn Oppel shows us how to go back to basics when dressing for the season ahead. “Iconic staples effortlessly exude comfort, while creating a sense of functional femininity – it’s time to introduce yourself to the new season,” she says. As always we share the behind-the-scenes action from our Drive-In Studio with backstage photos courtesy of ELLE style reporter Niquita Bento.
Inspiration for shoot?
I was inspired by the rise of minimalism, androgyny, paired back design and classic staples to tie in to our iconic August issue. The idea of not forcefully dressing like a woman to feel like a woman is the here and now!
Model?
We shot with the beautiful Alexa Corlett from Boss models.
Photographer?
I paired up with the super talented duo Elford & De La Forét c/o Agent Emma, who have such an incredible eye for detail and simplicity, which translates into the very modern end result.
Hair and make-up?
Fiona Gentry from Gloss who gave Alexa a dewy lid, a nude lip, and very sleek middle-parted hair.
Here are a few more behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot in our Drive-In photographic studio.
