ELLE’s beauty and fashion assistant Maybe Corpaci played with fashion and beauty in a mix of colour and prints perfectly on-trend for the summer season in a recent shoot at our studios in Woodstock. “Fearless shades and flamboyant fashion, the season’s new mood comes to life in colour” says Maybe.
Thanks to ELLE style reporter Niquita Bento we get to see what went on behind the scenes during this photographic shoot in our Drive-In Studio.

ELLE’s Maybe Corpaci explains a little more about the shoot.

What was the inspiration for the shoot?

The idea behind the shoot came about during the Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week. I had been wanting to feature more garments in beauty editorials and the October issue – being the big fashion issue – presented itself as a great opportunity to do so mixing spring/summer beauty trends and the best local fashion fresh off the runway.

Who were your models?

We shot with three gorgeous girls: Sam from Ice, Kaone from Boss and Tana from Fan Jam. They all have great skin, incredible features and can really work the camera.

Which photographer did you choose and why?

I once again teamed up with the talented duo Elford & De la Foret (remember True Radiance from the September issue?). Their lighting skills, eye for modernity, vision and work ethic is perfect for what I was after.

Who was the makeup artist?

After a good while I worked again with Kelly Pataiky from Gloss, who reaffirmed her talent making magic with brushes and colour. We selected the hottest make-up hues for the spring/ summer season – being blue, lilac and tangerine- and created make-up looks that best suited the girl’s features.
